Dogs at HCR

We would like to remind our customers that all dogs must be on a leash when out and about. In addition, clean up after dogs is the owners responsibilities. We have a garbage can located near the fish cleaning table for their waste. We thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

   Wi-Fi

Many moorage customers have indicated they would like Wi-Fi available on the dock. Please know we are working on making that happen in 2010!

Fishin' Report
by Bobby Gentry

Now that the water temperature is running in the low 70's and the water level is falling, I have found that most of the smallmouth that I have caught are holding on the outside edges of willows and submerged bushes, approx 4-12 feet deep.
My bait of choice is still swim baits preferred color white or pearl white. If you are fishing stained water edges use a touch of chartreuse dip on the tail or light colored spinner baits on the bright clear days and darker spinner baits on the cloudy and low light condition days. Minnows are still effective in the same areas. I have caught nice fish drifting minnows 16-20 feet range at the ends of flats.
Nice bluegill and shell crackers are hitting on gravel banks using red worms tight lining 4-6 lb test line if fishing around willows for bluegill approx 4 feet deep with slip bobbers. Large mouth have been caught around structure and breaks up the creeks and river on shaky head jig and sweet beaver plastics for the trailer, green pumpkin and black and blue is my color selection.
Night fishing is also picking up and some walleye are being taken at night on husky jerks on the rock walls.
Locations will vary with this water level changing. Don't hesitate to change your locations until you get the first bite and that will help you establish a pattern for the locations you need to continue trying.
